Patricia S. Choban, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Patricia Smith Choban, M.D. is a board certified, talented surgeon with Mid Ohio Surgical Associates and serves as the program director for bariatric surgery for the Mount Carmel West Hospital and is an adjunct professor of human nutrition at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Choban completed her medical doctorate at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. She finished her residency at Hampton Veterans Administration Medical Center Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine, where she also completed a fellowship in Clinical Nutrition.

Dr. Choban is nationally renowned for her work in bariatrics. She was appointed National Faculty for Bariatric Surgery by the American College of Surgeons in 2003 and was appointed to the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) panel reviewing the “LAPBAND” device.

Among her professional affiliations are the American Institute of Nutrition, the American Obesity Association, American Society for Clinical Nutrition and American Society of Bariatric Surgeons. She is also a fellow with the American College of Surgeons.

In her free time, Dr. Choban enjoys needlework and attending sporting events with her husband and two sons.

Marcus R. Miller, MD FACS

Marcus R. Miller, M.D. is a board certified dedicated surgeon at Mid Ohio Surgical Associates.

An Ohio native, Dr. Miller completed his undergraduate work at The Ohio State University and finished his medical doctoral work at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. His surgical residency was conducted at Mount Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Active in the medical community, Dr. Miller is a Fellow with the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery, Ohio State Medical Association, and the Columbus Medical Association. He is also an elected member of Alpha Omega Alpha.

In his spare time, Dr. Miller enjoys watching Ohio State football, traveling soccer and spending time with his son.

Phillip D. Price, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Philip D. Price, M.D. is a board certified surgeon with Mid Ohio Surgical Associates and also serves as medical director of cancer services for Mount Carmel Health West Hospital.

He earned his undergraduate degree from Capital University and his doctorate in medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Price completed his residency at Mount Carmel Health.

Dr. Price has published numerous papers on bariatric procedures and laparoscopic procedures and is active in the medical community. He is a Fellow with the American College of Surgeons and holds memberships in the American Society for Bariatric Surgery, International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity, Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and many others.

In his free time, Dr. Price is active in scouts and sports with his three busy sons.
